Learning to solve fractions of a set.

I found this activity tricky because it was hard to think and it was quite confusing. I am proud of trying my best and trying to get the answer right. My next step with fractions of a set is to read the problem more carefully and solve it faster.

Learning to write instructions.

I found this activity hard because it took lots of remembering. I am proud of that I tried my best and I did it well. My next steps with writing instructions is to make them more clear and more interesting. 

Learning to draw a giraffe and blend using pastels.

I think my giraffe looks neat and I worked hard on it. I found it hard to make it with no white spaces. My next step is to make to try to keep everything inside the lines with my pastels.

Learning to write an adjective poem.

I have been learning to use adjectives to add detail and expression to my writing. I found this easy to describe the eagle because I already know about it and it's part of my state. I am proud of working hard on this poem and because I learnt how to sound out my words. My next step with choosing adjectives is to choose more interesting and longer adjectives.

I use hook in my writing so people will get interested in my writing.  I use a hook for my story about my lava lamp.  I used onomatopoeia to make my reader interested.  I found it easy because I know what happened.  My next step is to use detail.

Learning to recognise Speech Marks.

I have been learning to recognise speech marks in a book. Speech marks mean that someone said it. My drawing shows the three bears being snowed in.

I found this activity hard because it had to recognise what the speech marks mean. I am proud of that I tried my best and I was paying attention to my work. My next step with speech marks is to recognise what they mean and what they do.

I have been learning to play Mary Had a Little Lamb. I like playing the recorder because I like focusing on how to control your fingers.

I have been using describing words to write a diamante poem. 

I found tricky to spell the right words. I am proud of thinking carefully of my words. My next step will be to sound out my describing words and to use describing words to make my writing more interesting so a lot of people will comment on my blog. 

My Story Illustration

IALT retell a story. 

This is my illustration for the book Grumpy Elephant by Joy Cowley. My picture shows that the giraffe and the monkey and the parrot were dancing and the elephant was grumpy because they did not invite him. I liked using kidpix to help me illustrate my retelling because it has all the details to draw with. 

Learning to retell a story.

I found this easy because I was concentrating on what I was doing. The worksheet made this simple for me to follow and I remembered everything and I didn't have to read the book over. My next step with this is to know the meanings of more words.

My Bucket

I am proud of my bucket because I tried my best and I wasn't focused on other people who were distracting me. I like how I added my details and I just listened to my self.

Using a Number Line to Add

I was learning number lines.  I was learning them for takeaway and plusses.  It was easy because I was thinking very good.  I need to make sure I keep practising it so then I can do long and hard things.

Learning my basic facts.

I have been using mathletics to help me with my basic facts.

I think that the answer is 12 because if I leave the ten in your head and hold up eight fingers and take away six then add the two to the ten and I get 12. 

I like using mathletics because it helps me learn really well and my Mum said she wants me to grow up well and I want to help my mum.
